PRATEEK RAJAGOPAL

Composer and Record Producer Prateek Rajagopal’s work spans multiple genres - from experimental-electronic score for VR project Body of Mine (PGA winner, SXSW winner, Venice Film Festival official selection), to Justin Timberlake’s TROLLS Band Together, to Star Wars’ The Mandalorian S3, to Michael B. Jordan’s Creed 3.

 He has written and collaborated with Eric André, Lizzo, Joseph Shirley and Ludwig Göransson.

His roots began, unusually, in death metal - a genre he’s credited with shaping his musical ear while growing up in Oman and India. He is the chief songwriter of India's premier death metal export Gutslit. Their third record Carnal (2023) released to critical acclaim. 

Prateek’s abilities translate equally into the world of concert music.  In 2022, he was mentored by acclaimed composer Derrick Skye, and Prateek’s chamber piece Rub' al Khali was premiered by world-renowned chamber group Salastina.

His recognition as an artist is well beyond his years. Features include pieces in Rolling Stone, Red Bull Music, VICE, Metal Injection and other prominent media outlets.

Prateek’s forthcoming work is as a co-writer and solo producer for a record from one of Stones Throw Record’s top artists.

He holds a Masters of Music from USC's prestigious Screen Scoring program and currently lives and works  in Los Angeles.
